ROLE DESCRIPTION: Clinical Manager
Department: Clinical Services
Reporting to: CEO
Part Time: 22.5 hours per week
Relationship Ireland, one of Ireland’s largest couples and relationship counselling services, is seeking to recruit a clinical manager to manage our counselling and supervision service. This is a key management role in the organisation and the suitable candidate will possess skills, knowledge and experience in clinical, operational and people management areas. The key roles and responsibilities of the role are outlined in the categories below.
Clinical services management
Act as direct line manager to the counsellling, supervision and Teen Between teams setting service objectives and managing performance.
Support the provision of the highest standards of individual and couple counselling by Relationships Ireland
Provide support to counsellors and supervisors to ensure best clinical practice in counselling, supervision and Teen Between services
Meet with counsellor, supervision and Teen Between teams in relation to clincial issues
Operational management
Participate as a member of Relationships Ireland’ management team in the development of the organisation as a whole
Identify opportunities for increased operational efficiency and implement these.
Conduct reviews and appraisals of counsellling, supervision and Teen Between staff
Assist in the development and implementation of case management systems to manage clinical data and appointments
Implement and manage the clinical staff rota to ensure efficient use of clinical resources
Support administration team in their involvement with clinicians
Liaise between reception, administration and counsellors on operational issues
Report weekly in to the Chief Execuitve to review clincial issues and project work
Clinical services development
Develop new products and services for the counselling and supervision services
Contribute to the ongoing development of operating procedures for the clinical team.
Recruit sessional counsellors, ensure professional ability and develop ongoing professional training
Support the development of a network of professionally trained affiliate couple counsellors around the country
Collaborate with other organisations on clinical issues eg. Onefamily, Mediators Institute, AACI
Take on project work as appropriate in relation to the ongoing development and professionalism of the clinical team
Quality and ethics
Review and update Relationship Ireland Clinical Policies and Procedures and ensure implementation.
Ensure that Relationships Ireland’s clinical practice is parallel with best clinical practice and in accordance with the recommendation of appropriate professional bodies
Research and implement as appropriate outcome and quality measurement systems for counselling services
Develop and implement client survey and feedback systems and implement changes that may be highlighted as a result
Handle client complaints/feedback
Staff training and developemnt
Develop and implement training for clinical staff to meet CPD requirement
Assist in the development and provision of reception and administration staff training
Research and implement training that meets the needs of the counselling, Teen Between and supervision teams
Training services
Develop and manage (with admin team) relevant courses for the public
Manage the delivery of the Certificate in Couples Counselling training programme
Manage the delivery of CPD and onsite training to other agencies and individuals
Manage student placements in Relationships Ireland from the programme
Contribute to the development of post graduate training in couple counselling with a 3rd level institute
Marketing and business development
Review clinical content for the website and for other promotional material
Review where necessary PR and media material for clinical appropriateness
Organisational development
Contribute to relevant sections of strategic plan
Contribute from time to time on projects that will influence the development of the organisation
Contribute to the development of organisational policies and ensure implmentation
